Umniah Subscribers Support SOS Children’s Villages Jordan Through Its umnicoin Program

November xx, 2020 – Amman, Jordan: In a move that is directly in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, Umniah has announced that subscribers to its umnicoin program can now donate their points to SOS Children’s Villages Jordan. Through their donations, subscribers will be actively contributing to the lives of orphaned children who have been deprived of normal family support.

SOS Children’s Villages Jordan is a national not-for-profit society that was established in Jordan in 1983. It provides support to approximately 250 orphaned children as well as those who have lost family support in 32 family homes in its three villages in Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba, as well as at nine youth homes affiliated with the institution.

Speaking about this latest CSR initiative, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said that the telecom consistently works to satisfy its national and humanitarian role towards all the sectors of society, with a particular focus on marginalized and vulnerable ones. According to Shatara, adding the SOS Children’s Villages Jordan to its umnicoin program allows subscribers to contribute to a meaningful cause that represents their humanitarian values and furthers social cohesion and unity. He went on to add that Umniah continues to work towards providing a dignified life for the residents of SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, offering them a safe and stable environment that allows them to prosper and flourish, ultimately becoming productive members of their communities. Donations through the umnicoin program will also go to help the management of SOS Children’s Villages Jordan to continue its operations in a manner that affords its residents with the best services available.

SOS Children’s Villages Jordan National Director Rana Al-Zoubi praised Umniah’s initiative, which offers subscribers a unique way to support SOS Children’s Villages Jordan residents in receiving alternative family care services, food security, shelter, education, health and mental care, as well as economic empowerment, protection and social integration. Al-Zoubi added this latest initiative by Umniah positively reflects the significant values it has implemented for itself and for Jordanian society as a whole.

The SOS Children’s Village Jordan operates in line with international standards to provide protection and human rights to its beneficiaries, guaranteeing their welfare until they become self-reliant. It has adopted the alternative family guidelines for children as well as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The NGO also works diligently to apply the UN Sustainable Development Goals concerned with societies and strategies by partnering with people and organizations for that offer donations to help care for the children.
