Jordan’s Telecoms Support the Jordanian Air Ambulance Center

January 2022 – Amman, Jordan: Jordan’s three mobile telecommunications companies (Zain, Orange and Umniah) have partnered up to support the Jordanian Air Ambulance Center (JAAC), a move that is in line with their mutual belief in the organization’s critical role as well as in a bid to improve the health services provided to people.

This support by the telecommunications companies comes as part of their continuous efforts to build effective partnerships with civil and military public sector institutions, combining their efforts in order to serve Jordanians more effectively while simultaneously championing the center’s humanitarian role, and is an extension of their support efforts to all of the country’s sectors during the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of the support, and in view of the fact that high operational costs are the organization’s largest challenge, the three telecoms donated JD100,00 in cash to the Jordanian Air Ambulance Center (JAAC), which will allow it to continue transporting the injured by air from remote areas to specialized medical centers or between medical centers.

The Jordanian Air Ambulance Center (JAAC) was established in 2015 under the directive of His Majesty King Abdullah II as an independent government entity to be part of the ambulance services system in the Kingdom, serving the Jordanian community. The center provides both Jordanians and residents of Jordan medical evacuation for seriously injured people from remote areas that have insufficient medical services, transporting them to health centers where they can receive advanced medical care.

The center provides its services around the clock, seven days a week through a specialized team of pilots, a medical team, maintenance and technical engineers and a call center. Additionally, all the center’s aircraft are equipped with medical equipment that allows medical teams to provide thorough and focused medical care during the flights.
