Ethical Hacking Course

Continuing its pivotal role in raising cybersecurity awareness, Umniah Cyber Security Academy conducted an Ethical Hacking training course for students at Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU), a Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) initiative.

This course, attended by 17 university students, is the latest addition to the academy’s series of training programs to equip university students with the skills and knowledge needed to meet job market demands and tackle rising security challenges in the digital world.

Ethical Hacking involves testing and analyzing the security of systems, networks, and computer programs by simulating hacker attacks. The goal is to identify and fix vulnerabilities and security flaws before malicious entities can exploit them.

Ethical Hacking is conducted with the prior consent of system owners and is a crucial component of cybersecurity strategies for companies and institutions. It helps identify potential risks and develop protective and preventive measures.

Amjad Frouqa, Director of Quality, Business Continuity, and Information Security (CISO) said, “We are proud to advance cybersecurity in Jordan and support national efforts. Umniah Cyber Security Academy is dedicated to developing training programs that address evolving market needs. Our Ethical Hacking course is a step forward, underscoring our commitment to nurturing young national talent in cybersecurity.”

Frouqa added, “At Umniah, we are committed to our community responsibilities, focusing on cultivating a generation of experts and specialists to safeguard our cybersecurity and elevate Jordan’s standing in this field.”

Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU, stressed the critical need for robust information security measures in today’s data-driven environment. He noted that protecting key institutional operations is paramount and highlighted the ethical hacking training course as vital to equipping students with skills to combat cyber threats.

Prof. Al-Hinti highlighted the university’s commitment to developing student capabilities in line with the evolving digital landscape, thus contributing to Jordan’s security and prosperity. He outlined the ethical hacking training course, which covers hacking techniques, information security controls, defense methods, risk management, social engineering, and the hacking process—from information gathering and network analysis to attack planning and trace scanning.

Umniah Cyber Security Academy held a graduation ceremony at HTU for participants in the Ethical Hacking course. The event was attended by Faisal Qamhiyah, CEO of Umniah, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of HTU, and senior staff and officials from both organizations.

In 2019, Umniah established a specialized academy in cybersecurity, aimed at enhancing the skills of university students, recent graduates, and members of various associations. This initiative seeks to empower participants and prepare them for the job market through specialized training courses and lectures delivered by field experts.

HTU, a CPF initiative, offers an educational model focused on enhancing basic and technical skills in engineering and information technology. The university aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, align educational outputs with local and global job market demands, and foster entrepreneurship and creativity among students. Additionally, it serves the local community by offering free training programs to Jordanian university students seeking employment opportunities.
