Umniah Announces the Winners of the Writing Competition for University Students Next Week

2 May 2023 – Umniah has announced the closure of nominations for the fourth edition of the 8Log competition, which focuses on Arabic writing and which is directed to Jordanian university students. The winners will be announced during the final ceremony to be held in the Umniah business incubator, The Tank, on May 9th.
The 8log competition jury panel consists of Ibrahim Khreisat, Editor in Chief of Hashtag Arabi, Yazan Nofal founder of Dinasoor Tech, Nisreen Rawashdeh Senior Program Manager at Edraak and Batoul Arnaout Content Marketing Supervisor at Umniah.
The launch of the fourth edition of the 8Log competition was announced last March, inviting Jordanian university students with a passion for Arabic writing and knowledge in various topics, such as entrepreneurship, technology, cyber security, sports, and more, to submit their articles to participate in the contest.
Over the course of five days, the competition jury panel worked on evaluating the students’ articles and ensuring that they comply with the set standards, which require articles to present new and interesting information concisely and clearly, while not exceeding 500 words and remaining compatible with search engines (SEO).
The writers of the top ten articles were selected to participate in a training workshop on Saturday, May 6th. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with Anwan, a platform that provides an experimental space for young writers to learn the principles of writing for websites. During the workshop, participants received advice and guidance on writing articles in general, with a particular focus on blogs. Following the completion of the workshop, the participants will undergo further evaluation to select the five articles that will qualify for the final stage.
During the final ceremony, three winners will be selected and awarded prizes. Furthermore, the five qualified articles will be published on Umniah’s blog.
