Umniah sponsors The International Conference on Future Energies & affirms its Commitment to Environment & supports Energy and Future Technologies Projects November xx, 2018 – Amman, Jordan: As part of its continued commitment to support renewable energy projects; Umniah has sponsored the International Conference on Future Energies. The conference, which was organized by the Federation of Arab Engineers (FAE) in cooperation with the Jordanian Engineers Association, was held under the patronage of Minister of Public Works and Housing Engineer Falah Al Omoush. The conference discussed a number of issues related to the environment and renewable energy, such as the drafting of strategies based on current technologies, the future of new energies and their economic and social effects. The conference also examined the main applications, rehabilitation and training for the latest advances in professions related to the energy field, and presented means for their production and preservation. Speaking about the company’s sponsorship of the conference, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara stressed the importance of holding meeting of this caliber, which saw the participation of experts and specialists from eight Arab countries discussing numerous issues related to traditional and renewable energy, as well as debating the challenges facing the sector and their possible solutions. He said, "Renewable energy projects and problems have become important issues at the local, Arab, and even international levels. The International Conference on Future Energies in Jordan comes at a time when we all urgently need to seek alternative sources of energy.” Shatara went on to add, "Umniah's sponsorship of this conference stems from its serious commitment to the environment and the achievement of sustainable energy development by supporting renewable energy projects, all pillars that are part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programs." He added that Umniah believes in the need to increase reliance on renewable energy sources as the best option to address the country’s high oil bill as well as to reduce pollution levels. Over two days, researchers and specialists discussed the latest scientific developments in the field of energy and diverse applications of modern energy sources. There was also extensive exchange of expertise and knowledge, as well as discussions covering the rehabilitation and training on the requirements for the latest professions in the field. - End-
