Umniah has partnered with Waqf Thareed to donate healthy and balanced iftar meals for our brethren in Gaza during Ramadan.
This partnership aligns with Umniah’s social responsibility strategy, focusing on sustainable development goals such as fighting hunger and malnutrition. Together they will provide Gaza residents with balanced meals of 870 calories each, addressing food insecurity.
Umniah has launched a fundraising campaign on its UWallet platform, allowing customers to easily donate to Gazans either directly through UWallet or by making instant payment transfers via CliQ to alias ‘Waqfthared’.
Umniah will donate thousands of calorie-complete meals for Ramadan, delivered via air drops in partnership with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the Jordanian Armed Forces. Furthermore, instead of hosting its annual employee iftar events, Umniah will redirect those funds to support Waqf Thareed.
Faisal Qamhiyah, CEO of Umniah, stated, “Joining Waqf Thareed as a founding partner was a natural fit for us, given its mission to fight hunger and malnutrition. This partnership aligns with our commitment to serving the community and our social responsibility strategy. We aim to support our brethren in Gaza through food donations, hoping to make a positive impact.”
Walid Tahabsem, Chairman of Waqf Thareed, commended Umniah for its support of underprivileged communities, noting that the partnership will make a significant difference in the lives of those targeted by the endowment, particularly in Gaza through the “Gaza 1 and Gaza 2” initiatives.
Waqf Thareed is a charitable organization dedicated to fighting hunger and malnutrition by providing balanced, healthy daily meals through carefully selected distribution centers. Since the onset of aggression in Gaza, it has launched initiatives Gaza 1 and Gaza 2 to support the people there.
