Under the umbrella of “INTAJ’s” Blue Ocean Council The Tank conducts orientation and mentoring sessions for The Tank’s Startups Amman, July 17th 2019 In line with its pioneering role in supporting Jordanian entrepreneurs and its continued efforts to provide the best incubation services, The Tank, Umniah’s business incubator, in partnership with INTAJ, held a networking event for INTAJ’s Blue Ocean Council initiative mentors. The Blue Ocean Council aims at supporting entrepreneurs and start-up companies through mentoring and guidance conducted by specialized experts. The Tank signed an agreement with the Blue Ocean Council to offer mentoring and guidance to entrepreneurs who benefit from incubator services and provide mentors and coaches for each and every one of them. Commenting on this cooperation, Umniah Marketing Director, Zaid Ibrahim, praised the efforts made by INTAJ to support of the entrepreneurial system in the Kingdom, which would not be complete without the availability of mentors and advisors. “This was recognized by the association five years ago when it launched the Blue Ocean Council initiative to mentor innovative project leaders technically and morally, and motivate them to achieve their goals and create projects with high added value “, he emphasized. Ibrahim further stressed that the The Tank carried out many mentoring and guidance programs that benefited many Jordanian entrepreneurs annually, and which on the basis of these programs have developed and expanded their work until many of them have become success stories that are well-known both on a local and Arab level. Over the past few years, The Tank has succeeded in strengthening its position as the leading entrepreneurship and business incubator for start-up companies, and has launched several advanced programs, most notably the region’s first virtual and Internet-based incubation services to entrepreneurs and startups from outside the capital city, Amman. The Tank’s efforts have culminated in the incubation and servicing of 10 start-up ‘companies’ each year in conjunction with the incubation of 10 virtual start-up ‘projects’. Furthermore, the Internet of Things (IoT) program has been a great success, providing services to leading entrepreneurs as well as pre-incubation services such as awareness and training courses, the transfer of the latest ideas and business trends, vocational and technical training, and specialized hackathon courses. INTAJ Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mahmoud Zaghalil, said that the association continues to empower entrepreneurs in the Kingdom, noting that the Blue Ocean Council is part of a series of initiatives launched by INTAJ aiming to develop the entrepreneurial environment in Jordan. Zaghalil stressed, “INTAJ continues, through its partnership with telecommunications companies and all entities operating within the Jordanian entrepreneurial system, to develop young people’s ideas to become viable projects in order to reduce the unemployment dilemma in Jordan and create innovative youth capable of contributing to the national economy.” He further praised the role of Umniah through its platform, The Tank, in developing the capabilities of Jordanian youth, especially through its partnership with INTAJ in holding meetings with entrepreneurs, investors and mentors with extensive experience in developing projects. Zaghalil added that these meetings help entrepreneurs identify business plans that will enable them to turn their ideas into feasible projects, by teaching them how to build investment plans in a manner that matches the requirements of the local market. -End-
