Umniah the Exclusive Telecom Sponsor of Workshop Organized by the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA) Attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply April 10, 2019 – Amman, Jordan: As part of its strategy to support and develop the business sector in the Kingdom, Umniah, a subsidiary of Batelco Bahrain, was the exclusive telecom sponsor of a workshop organized by the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA) at the Jordan Intercontinental Hotel in Amman entitled “Recent Developments of Interest to the Public and Private Sectors.” At the meeting, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Dr. Tariq Al-Hammouri spoke about the many significant issues facing both the public and private sectors, including the outcome of the London conference for donors and investment, an investor’s trip in Jordan, the outcome of industrial sectoral committee meeting, amendments of the simplification of origin rules, and the developments surrounding the opening of the Turaybil border crossing between Iraq and Jordan. The meeting was attended by European ambassadors and trade attaches to Jordan, representatives of official institutions, members from private sector establishments in the Jordanian trade and industrial sectors, associations and trade unions, and members of the association. Speaking about the workshop’s sponsorship, Umniah’s Commercial Enterprise and Home Broadband Director, Mahmoud Abu Zannad, affirmed the company’s continued interest in supporting activities, seminars, workshops, and conferences that examine issues of great priority to the country, as well as means to explore the development of the economic and business sectors in order to attract further investments in the Kingdom.
