Umniah Supports the Ministry of Education’s First Educational Waqf Project September xx, 2018 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah has announced its support for the Ministry of Education’s Waqf project, a step that is directly in line with the company’s strategy to collaborate with the educational sector in order to enhance and improve its offerings. During the official launch celebration, which was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Omar Razzaz at the Al Hussein Youth City, Umniah presented its in-kind and financial support for the project, which was approved by the Council of Ministers in January. Umniah’s support will go towards engaging both the public and private sectors in the project, as well as to back the government’s efforts in confronting the challenges facing the education sector in the Kingdom by improving the educational environment, building schools and facilities and expanding existing services. Maintenance works will also be carried out, as well as the purchasing of school supplies and the establishment of nutritious food programs for the students. Speaking about the project, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said, “Umniah steadfastly supports the educational sector as part of its deep commitment to the Kingdom and its comprehensive economic development. The company is a pioneer, through its corporate social responsibility strategy, in partnering with the relevant parties in order to stimulate employment and ameliorate lives.” Shatara went on to add, “We offer our unlimited backing to the educational sector, through this national endowment project with the Ministry of Education, in order to confront the challenges it faces in view of the increase in the number of students due to the political situation in the region.” – End-
