Umniah graduates the first batch of students from its Cyber Security Academy Umniah’s The Tank Becomes Principal Partner of the Entrepreneurship World Cup Amman, 11 June 2019 Umniah’s business incubator, The Tank, has announced its main partnership for the Entrepreneurship World Cup competition (EWC) as a host of the Jordanian version of the competition in June at the incubator’s main site at the King Hussein Business Park. The Tank will announce the winners of the Jordanian edition competitions, which will be held on June 13, in preparation for participation in the final competitions of the EWC, which will be held in Riyadh next October. The Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation / MiSK Foundation and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) launched the EWC competition to encourage and support entrepreneurs throughout their professional journeys, from concept to foundation and ongoing development, leveraging the support of business accelerators to help participants launch, strengthen and expand their projects and receive various awards in recognition of their performance. Upon registering, the journey of a participating entrepreneur begins with extensive training in preparation for the initial evaluation stage, which takes place via a virtual acceleration program. After completing the virtual program, they eligible to participate in the final stage of presenting their project to the public and a judging panel and answering potential questions that will factor into their overall evaluation. The jury, which is composed of three experts and specialists, evaluate the project according to a number of criteria, including the concept behind the product or service provided; its competitiveness in the market; the feasibility of the project and the qualifications and expertise of the team. At the end of the competition, the first winner will be selected from each of the three stages: the concept stage, the early stage and the development phase. The top three winners will be selected to participate in the Entrepreneurship World Cup, which will take place in Riyadh in October 2019 with the participation of 100 leaders from around the world. “Our mission at The Tank is to support innovation and entrepreneurship to stimulate and develop the business environment in Jordan and harness our full potential to achieve these goals through partnership and cooperation agreements with our partners and counterparts from around the world,” commented Zaid Ibrahim, Marketing Director at Umniah. “Today, we are proud that The Tank incubator is a key partner for the EWC, which will be held in Jeddah next November, and we hope that the winner will be one of the Jordanian entrepreneurs who have been recognized for their innovation and creativity and who have enjoyed many international successes,” added Ibrahim, noting that The Tank will spare no effort toward achieving its objective of redefining the business landscape in the kingdom and cultivating an environment that is conducive to innovation and creativity. Osama Kawash, Managing Director of Kingsville, the EWC representative, underscored importance of the competition in terms of the opportunities offered to entrepreneurs in Jordan to learn and benefit from the global expertise that will help market their ideas on a global stage. He further emphasized that the idea behind the competition is to unify the global entrepreneurial environment and make the tools available through the World Wide Web accessible to all entrepreneurs worldwide. Kawash further praised the role of The Tank in the competition and the incubator’s continued support for international activities that contribute to developing the entrepreneurial environment in the Kingdom.
