Umniah’s Security Operations Center (SOC) First Center in Jordan to Obtain a PCI DSS Certification Amman, Jordan, 29 December 2019: Umniah, a subsidiary of Batelco Bahrain, and pioneer in providing cyber security and managed security services, has announced that its Security Operations Center (SOC) has received a PCI DSS certification from the Security Standards Council. With this certification, Umniah’s Security Operations Center (SOC) is the first center in Jordan that officially complies with the standards and requirements of this global certification which gives organizations in general, and financial institutions in particular, the opportunity to comply with the PCI standards, which fulfills the requirement when outsourcing any of its information security operations to a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). This certification reinforces the confidence of Umniah’s customers in the strict security standards provided by the SOC through its Managed Security Services (MSS), which in turn ensure more reliability, security, and protection for their data privacy, as the Security Standards Council assessed the level of security protection within the SOC and its daily operation, and the extent to which it complies with the latest versions of its security standards approved. Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara expressed the company’s pride in obtaining a PCI DSS certification for information security standards and global electronic payment data which promotes Umniah’s leading position in providing state-of-the-art managed security services, noting that the security solutions provided by Umniah’s Security Operations Center (SOC) are concerned with protecting sensitive customer data.
