April 6, 2021 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah, through its Umniah Al Khair program, has partnered with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to launch the “Greetings to Our White Army” initiative, which honors Jordanian medical personnel on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the initiative, visits were made to medical personnel working in hospitals and medical centers across the country receiving coronavirus patients, including three field hospitals in the northern, central and southern regions of Jordan. Furthermore, the campaign launched the hashtag #Greetings_to_our_White_Army on social media platforms, which was used for posts of gratitude and appreciation for medical staff working tirelessly with coronavirus patients in the face of the pandemic.

Umniah sent a convoy to a number of medical facilities, kicking off the tour at Prince Hamza Hospital, carrying gifts and messages of thanks from Umniah’s team members to hospital personnel for their tremendous efforts made in the fight against the pandemic. Each gift distributed by volunteers had a message of appreciation that read “To our White Army. This is a token of our thanks for your tireless efforts during these difficult circumstances. Your hearts are as pure as the snow, and through your work and sacrifices, you have saved countless lives while continuously giving patients hope. Although our words of thanks cannot describe our lifetime of debt to you, we hope this token of appreciation reflects the depth of our gratitude.”

Speaking of the initiative, Umniah CEO, Ziad Shatara spoke of his deep appreciation for the work of the white army, calling them the nation’s loyal soldiers who stand on the front lines to protect the health and safety of citizens, sacrificing their own health and comfort for the sake of the community. Shatara went on to add, “Umniah has proudly partnered with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship on this humanitarian initiative, which is in line with our corporate social responsibility strategy and shows our deep gratitude to the medical personnel who have exerted exceptional efforts and put themselves at great risk to confront the pandemic.” According to Shatara, Umniah and all its team members feel duty-bound to honor those who have been working indefatigably for over a year now, adding that it is of the utmost importance that all of Jordan play their part by abiding by the public safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring social distancing, and not leaving their homes unless it is absolutely necessary.
