Umniah Provides Abu Nseir with High-Speed Fiber Internet Services Amman, Jordan, 3 March 2020: In a step to enhance its leadership in the local telecom market by offering an additional range of high value-added services, Umniah, a subsidiary of Bahrain’s Batelco Group, has announced the launch of high-speed fiber internet services in Abu Nseir area in northern Amman. By expanding the coverage of its fiber network, the total number of areas included in this service has now reached a total of seven areas, including Al Baraka, Al Khalidi, Al Salheen, Tabarbour, Tla’a Al Ali and Al Yasmeen. Abu Nseir is considered one of the densest populated areas of Amman, and this expansion will connect all the buildings in the area to Umniah’s fiber services for homes and businesses, at high speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, and at competitive prices. Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara reiterated the company’s commitment to developing the Jordanian telecom sector by investing in the latest technological developments in this field, as well as improving the levels of customer satisfaction by offering them rich and valuable experiences and the best products and services in terms of their efficiency, technical performance, and competitive pricing. He explained that Umniah is going forward according to a predefined time frame to expand the coverage of its fiber-optic services, which is in line with its efforts to transform into a digital communications operator. By expanding the fiber network coverage to include additional areas, Shatara stressed that Umniah contributes to creating even more opportunities for the business sector, by supporting businesses in carrying out their daily operations and plans, and creating new jobs. Umniah had announced in October last year the expansion of its fiber services in Tabarbour area in north-east Amman, in addition to revealing its plans to develop its networks and achieve higher speeds, as well as its readiness to launch the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service for voice and video calls over the 4G network, with a total investment of 100 million dinars. -End-
