Umniah Inaugurates Two Playgrounds in Karak under Forsa Initiative

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Education Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Najwa Qubeilat, and in the presence of Karak Governor, Dr. Mohammad Fayez, Umniah inaugurated two playgrounds of two schools in Karak Governorate, Saed Al-Maaytah Secondary School for Boys in Ader, and Nour Al-Hussein Secondary School for Girls in Al-Thaniya. The playgrounds, which underwent complete restorations, were chosen as part of the “Forsa initiative” that was launched by Umniah at the end of 2021.

During the inauguration, Dr. Qubeilat, stressed on the importance of the partnership between the private and public sectors, in addressing and overcoming the challenges facing the educational sector. Dr. Qubeilat went on to add that the Ministry of Education avidly supports such partnerships in the advancement of the educational learning environment. Dr. Qubeilat also thanked Umniah for the exceptional efforts the company has been making in supporting the ministry through initiatives that propel the educational sector forward.

According to Dr. Qubeilat, the Forsa initiative aims at creating a safe, healthy and stimulating learning environment for students, allowing them to advance their academic achievements while promoting physical, mental and social health.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Mohammad Fayez, Karak’s governor, praised Umniah’s initiative “Forsa” in supporting the physical, mental and psychological health of students through extracurricular activities, especially following the coronavirus pandemic. He also expressed his appreciation to Umniah and its efforts in supporting the developments of local communities.

Umniah Head of Corporate Communication and Innovation, Ziad Asfour, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to spearheading initiatives that support and elevate the educational sector, which is the foundation of sustainable development in the country. He added that “Forsa” addresses the physical and mental wellbeing of students by adopting sports as a healthy lifestyle through a suitable and stimulating environment, which ultimately reflects positively on their academic achievements as well as development of their skills. He went on to say that Umniah would continue to renovate the playgrounds of public schools that comply with the criteria and conditions for the initiative.

Asfour also thanked all of Forsa’s partners for their contributions to the launch and success of this pioneering initiative, led by the Ministry of Education and the Madrasati initiative.

Umniah’s JD1 million five-year “Forsa” initiative was launched at the end of 2021 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to rehabilitate and repair public schools’ playgrounds, offering children more inclusive athletic opportunities. The “Forsa” initiative, which is an integral part of Umniah’s corporate social responsibility strategy, aims to promote and elevate the services provided by the educational and healthcare sectors in Jordan while simultaneously serving the communities within which the company operates.

To date, “Forsa” has successfully rehabilitated seven public schools across the Kingdom, with renovations currently underway on the playgrounds of three new schools. The “Forsa” initiative has benefited until today 6,000 students across Jordan.
