Umniah Encourages Citizens to Register for Free in “Mahfazti” Mobile Wallet Service Amman, Jordan, 28 March 2020: In a move aimed at facilitating their financial transactions and providing them with a platform of integrated services, especially in light of the current circumstances, Umniah has encouraged citizens and companies to register in the mobile wallet solution “Mahfazti”, for free and without any fees or commissions. Umniah was the first Jordanian telecommunications company to launch the mobile wallet service “Mahfazti” at the beginning of 2016, as an integrated financial platform for individuals and companies regardless of their telecommunications service provider, offering them a safe and easy way for immediate electronic payments, so they can use their mobile phones to make payments, transfer and receive money, transfer from one wallet to another without any commissions, purchase prepaid lines and internet cards easily, as well as pay their Umniah postpaid and internet bills, pay service bills (water, electricity, property taxes, telecommunications, professional licenses), and other bills available on the eFAWATEERcom service, such as university fees, donations for charities, and ATM cash withdrawals (without the need for a bank account or ATM card), in addition to paying for their purchases in places where this service is available. Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said: “Mahfazti by Umniah is one of the best solutions to conduct financial transactions easily and safely, especially in light of the circumstances Jordan is going through at the moment, and the curfew imposed by the government to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Umniah is keen on enabling Mahfazti users, both individuals and companies, to complete their financial transactions and fulfill their financial obligations at all times.” Shatara expressed his pride in Umniah for being the first telecommunications company, and one of the first Jordanian companies, to provide mobile wallet services, in line with its mission to become the first digital operator to support the comprehensive digital transformation process taking place in the Kingdom. Shatara pointed out that Umniah has contributed its expertise and capabilities for the development of payment through a mobile phone, and has supported the efforts of the Central Bank of Jordan in promoting financial inclusion in the country.
