Umniah Doubles Internet Capacities for all Mobile Subscribers for Free Amman, Jordan, 25 March 2020: Umniah has decided to double its internet capacities for both its prepaid and postpaid mobile subscribers for free, in a move that reiterates the company’s commitment to its customers by providing them with the best services during these exceptional times. This step will enable Umniah’s prepaid and postpaid subscribers to browse the internet and stay up to date with the latest local and international developments, and stay in touch with their families and friends. Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara stressed Umniah’s commitment to carry out its role towards its country and customers responsibly and efficiently, pointing out that the company’s decision to increase internet capacities for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers contributes to reaffirming its social role and national responsibility towards its customers, by helping them work and study from home, during a time when internet traffic levels have exploded. Shatara added that the implementation of this initiative will start from Wednesday, by doubling current capacities for free until the end of the crisis. Since the government announced a set of measures to address the spread of the coronavirus and provide treatment for patients infected with the virus, Umniah has played a prominent role to support these efforts. Until now, Umniah has donated $50,000 to the Ministry of Health to buy artificial respirators. The company has also enabled free browsing, through its network, of the Ministry of Education’s e-learning platform “Darsak”, without any deductions on customer credit balances or internet bundles on their mobile phones or home internet subscriptions. It has also given its customers the opportunity to donate to the Ministry of Health through its loyalty program “umnicoin”, in addition to keeping all subscriptions active, regardless of their due bills, until the crisis ends, as well as other great services to keep people connected at all times. -End-
