Umniah Debuts eSIM Technology for its Post and Pre-Paid Customers May 17, 2020 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah has launched the integrated eSIM technology, which is now available to both its pre- and post-paid customers who own the latest mobile smartphones, a move that once again delivers on the company’s promise to provide its clients with the most innovative and up-to-date technologies. This latest service by Umniah will be available as of Sunday, May 17, 2020, and can be found at the company’s stores and showrooms across the Kingdom. Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara spoke of the company’s digital transformation strategy, which is committed to consistently supplying the local market with state-of-the-art technologies, adding that the eSIM technology is the latest effort by Umniah to provide its customers with an enriching digital experience. The debut of the eSIM card will also be a significant contributor to furthering the success of the Internet of Things, which is considered the technology of the future. Shatara went on to say that all of Umniah’s services are compatible with the eSIM card technology, which has been integrated into the motherboard of smartphones and has the same functions of the traditional card, with a number of new and innovative features. Umniah Marketing Director, Zaid Ibrahim said the eSIM card provides customers with the ability to add other numbers, whether personal, business or roaming, through the phone’s settings function without the need to visit an Umniah store or showroom, Furthermore, it offers users the ability to smoothly shift between numbers without the need to replace the card or to buy a new one, as well as to amend information stored on the card. Additionally, this new technology adds another level of security to phones, making them more difficult to steal, according to Ibrahim. Ibrahim went on to add that this latest service by Umniah runs on specific models of smartphones for both prepaid and deferred payment customers, and can be activated by scanning the Quick Response (QR) code provided at stores or through the company’s e-shop. The eSIM service is now electronically available for the first time in Jordan through Umniah’s e-shop, allowing customers to utilize it without the need to visit a showroom. -END-
