Through Umnicoin Umniah Subscribers Donate to the Ministry of Health to Fight Coronavirus Pandemic Umniah Meets and Doubles Each Donation April 25, 2020 – Amman, Jordan: In support of national efforts to fight the spread of coronavirus, Umniah has pledged to double the amount donated by its subscribers through its umnicoin loyalty program. To date, the company will donate JD60,000, which will be deposited directly into the Ministry of Health’s account. Umniah subscribers contributed JD30,000 to aid the Ministry of Health, officially listed as an accredited charity and humanitarian institutions and initiatives in March, in its fight against the novel coronavirus, with part of the money going to support medical staff and patients. Commenting about the company’s pledge and the generosity of its clients, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara spoke of the depth of his gratitude and appreciation to customers, who donated their personal umnicoins in response to the global pandemic. Shatara went on to say, “Since the government announcement about the precautionary measures to stop the spread of coronavirus; Umniah quickly reacted in a number of ways, including offering financial donations, harnessing our potential in the service of the educational sector, which is a priority for the company, as well as actions to support the efforts of national institutions, including the Ministry of Health.” Umniah previously donated $50,000 to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of respirators, as well as provided free browsing to its customers through Darsak, its electronic learning network in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, without deducting from their balances or Internet packages. The company also ceased the disconnection of any past-due customer subscriptions in order to ensure that they have a means of contact during the crisis. In addition, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Talabat customers have been exempt of any connection fees in support of local restaurants and the continuity of their business.
