August 8, 2021 – Amman, Jordan: The Tank, Umniah’s business incubator, celebrated the launch of the third season of its incubation program at its headquarters at the King Hussein Business Park. The celebration, which was in line with the incubator’s role of promoting entrepreneurship in the Kingdom, welcomed 21 new startups to the line-up for 2021.
The new startups that met the selection criteria have been chosen to be part of The Tank’s third cohort, which include: SpaceDeco, TachyHealth, Heliotaics, FANNI AI, Bloom, Engagesoft, 7asaleh, Scholascope, Saleem, Ejarkom, Cookiesbis, Math Achievers, Bunni Coffee Roasters, Medlinic, AB Solutions, SmartWheels, ITS, Mishmash, Jafar Shop, Jothings and Martha EDU.
After the ceremony was kicked off and the participants were taken on a tour of The Tank’s facilities and services, Talentology founder Ahmad Al-Assad conducted a series of ice-breaking activities to strengthen communication and teamwork among the companies’ founders.
At the ceremony, the Tank Entrepreneurship and Innovation Supervisor Noor Abu Jbara said she and the entire team were excited to welcome the third season of the incubator’s program, adding that this year will be a combination of face-to-face and virtual training, with several activities and events already scheduled.
Abu Jbara briefed the entrepreneurs on the services that they will have access to throughout the third season, including mentorship, workshops and training courses, as well as the opportunity to secure additional funding, financial and legal advice, business development and marketing, networking and investment opportunities inside and outside the Kingdom. The start-ups will also be offered a gateway to participate in international competitions and global conferences, will be provided with office space and communications services by Umniah, in addition to the facilitation of vocational licensing, tax and customs exemptions.
Umniah Director of Communications Wajeeha Al-Husseini and Umniah CSR & Innovation Manager Nicole Shahin both welcomed the 21 new startups to the incubation program, adding in their remarks that each project presented innovative ideas throughout the selection process, which ultimately qualified them to take part in The Tank’s third season.
The ceremony concluded with a Q&A session led by The Tank executives, which was followed by discussions revolving around potential collaboration opportunities.
Over the past two seasons, The Tank has incubated 47 companies both in person and virtually, with more than 7,000 people ultimately benefiting. The Tank also held more than 150 events each year and worked to establish partnerships with organizations that support entrepreneurship and innovation. The Tank also sponsored the attendance of its startups at local and international conferences, and hosted workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship for school and university students.
