The Tank Takes Part in the Artificial Intelligence Conference and Exhibition for Defense Technology and Cyber Security

November xx, 2021 – Amman, Jordan: The Tank, Umniah’s business incubator took part in the Artificial Intelligence Conference and Exhibition for Defense Technology and Cyber Security (AIDTSEC 2021) organized by the Special Operations Forces Exhibition / SOFEX – Jordan and held at the Al Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre in the Dead Sea on October 27 and 28, as part of its commitment to continuously support the tech ecosystem and entrepreneurship environment in Jordan.

At its pavilion, The Tank team members introduced the attendees to the comprehensive incubation services and solutions provided to entrepreneurs and startups, including all the latest and most innovative information about developments in the global entrepreneurship ecosystem such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

During the exhibition, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Al-Hanandeh and Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara visited the pavilion, where they were briefed on five of The Tank’s most innovative new companies, their projects as well as the range of services they had access to at the incubator.

Companies incubated at The Tank that participated in AIDTSEC 2021 included Martha EDU, a startup that is working to eradicate illiteracy at its earliest stages for the deaf in order to allow children to grow with confidence and strength, as well as Scholascope, a platform for students and universities that provides free scholarships to students and allows them to fill out applications in order to easily capture the thousands of opportunities available on the platform. Also at the exhibition was architectural design company Living Mosaic, Arabic weight-loss application Saleem App that aims to help people reach their goals through a healthy lifestyle plan, and Fanni AI, which specializes in digitizing and automating the auto repair market.

At The Tank’s pavilion, Shatara spoke about the important role of AIDTSEC 2021 for startups, which has given them the opportunity to exchange experiences and keep up with the most innovative trends and developments in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in Jordan. The exhibition also provides The Tank startups with a valuable opportunity to network with investors and participants, which may ultimately lead to the growth of their businesses.

Over the past two seasons, The Tank has incubated 47 companies both in person and virtually, with more than 7,000 people ultimately benefiting. The Tank also held more than 150 events each year and worked to establish partnerships with organizations that support entrepreneurship and innovation. The Tank also sponsored the attendance of its startups at local and international conferences, and hosted workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship for school and university students.
