She went on to add that this final workshop for 2020 is the last in a series of virtual events held by The Tank since the onset of the pandemic, all of which were designed to empower entrepreneurs and support them to overcome the challenges that accompany running a business, with a focus on coping with the effects of the pandemic. According to Shahin, exposure to painful and challenging situations, including the loss of a loved one or the loss of a job, can create stress or feelings of anger for some, adding that it is important to have coping mechanisms in hand to manage and overcome the challenges.

She pointed out that the negative impact of anger and stress also have societal effects, including social isolation due to people avoiding an angry and stressed person, which increases levels of anxiety and increases conflicts, both at home and at work. Negative feelings may also have a psychological impact on memory and the brain’s work centers and may lead to various sorts of addiction if suppressed.
