The Tank announces Seedstars Amman competition winners Amman, xx July 2019 The Tank, Umniah’s entrepreneurship and business incubator, announced three Jordanian companies’ triumph in the Seedstars Amman competition, which recently concluded at the incubator’s headquarters. Over the course of two days, the start-up companies participating in the competition presented their projects to a jury comprising of: Abdulmajid Shoman, co-founder of Seven Circles, Ammar Mismar from Umniah, Francesca Bombasi from Seedstars, Manaf Asfour and Tambi Galloway from the Amman-based accelerator “Propeller”, and Mohamed Salah from “Startup Grind”. After extensive discussion by the committee, Dealat company won first place for a mobile application offering subscribers daily deals. The customer purchases an electronic coupon directly from the platform using one of the multiple payment methods available through the application and at various discounts. The app owner has the opportunity to participate in the Seedstars regional competition, in addition to receiving training for 3 months. Gogo Delivery, an application focused on delivering shipments and orders within cities in record time and at competitive prices, won second place. The company founders will receive 3-month training from Seedstars. CarGenie, which offers car wash services, received a month and a half training and mentoring from Seedstars after winning third place. The three companies won their places following a fierce competition, with the top 20 Jordanian companies invited to participate in the training provided by Seedstars, in addition to a group of local trainers and regional mentors. Umniah Marketing Director, Zaid Ibrahim, congratulated the entrepreneurs on winning the Jordanian version of the Seedstars competition and expressed his hope for the first-ranked company to achieve advanced results within international competitions that deal with initial investments in fast-growing start-ups in emerging markets. Ibrahim reiterated The Tank’s pride in hosting the Seedstars World Competition for the second year in a row by providing platinum sponsorship for these competitions. The incubator is constantly seeking to provide sustainable support to Jordanian start-ups and innovative ideas through various mentoring programs, as well as provide them with the necessary expertise and skills to manage these projects and connect them with international investors by allowing them to participate in international conferences. -End-
