RHAS Honors Umniah for Supporting Healthy Schools Program

The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) honored Umniah for its continued support of the Healthy Schools Program, which the society has been running since 2008 in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Education. This recognition, given for the second consecutive year, acknowledges Umniah’s efforts in promoting healthy practices among 4,132 students across Jordan.

On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, His Excellency Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, the Minister of Education, presented the award to Wajeeha Al Husseini, Director of Brand and Corporate Communications at Umniah. The ceremony was attended by other supporters of the Healthy Schools Program from national organizations, as well as members of the program’s higher, technical, and subcommittees, Ministry of Education officials, school principals, and health teachers.

Al Husseini said, “This honor highlights Umniah’s commitment to social responsibility in the education sector. Through various initiatives, we aim to promote healthier practices and create safer school environments.”

She added, “Our ongoing partnership with RHAS has shown us the positive impact of the Healthy Schools Program on students. For the second consecutive year, over 8,000 students have benefited from the program in the schools we support.”

Amal Ireifij, Director of Program Development at RHAS, expressed pride in the partnership with Umniah and its role in raising awareness and promoting the Healthy Schools Program in the schools it supports.

She stated, “Umniah’s contribution, along with support from the private sector, government, and civil society organizations, exemplifies the importance of collective efforts to develop the school environment, crucial for students’ physical, social, and educational growth.”

RHAS develops and implements safety and public health programs in partnership with the public and private sectors, as well as civil society organizations. Their goal is to empower beneficiaries to adopt healthier lifestyles through programs in schools, youth development, early childhood development, the Healthy Community Clinics Program, nutrition, and community health.
