July 5, 2020 – Amman, Jordan: The Bahraini Jordanian Technology and Communications Company (Batelco Jordan), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Umniah, has been enrolled on the Income and Sales Tax Department’s Golden List after meeting all the requirements
Minister of Finance Dr. Mohamad Al-Ississ and the Director of the Income Tax Department Hussam Abu Ali had, in a press conference on Sunday, said that the Golden List which bolsters voluntary membership by taxpayers streamlines procedures and helps them avoid fines or violations.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ississ presented the membership certificate to Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara, in his role as the representative of Batelco Jordan, which currently provides business services and solutions for Umniah.
Shatara expressed his pleasure that Batelco has been enrolled in the exclusive program, which is further confirmation to the importance the company places on its tax and regulatory obligations, as well as maintaining its commitment to upholding the highest standards in its work. He went on to add that this commitment is an extension of the company’s regular evaluation of all its work and internal protocols, and its consistent measures to enable it to perform at optimal levels.
Shatara noted that the Golden List program strengthens the partnership between the private and public sectors, allowing them to share the responsibility of implementing legislations to collect taxes rapidly and efficiently.
The Golden List program was created to bolster confidence between tax-paying companies and establishments and the Income Tax Department, and helps them avoid violations or incurring fines by setting specific guidelines that ensure the security of the measures in order to receive their rebates in a timely manner.
The program also helps taxpayers receive their rebates once they have fulfilled the requirements for membership for at least thirty from the end of his tax form’s audit, providing that they have paid their taxes.
