In collaboration with the Department of Antiquities, Umniah showcased the unlimited potential and capabilities of 5G technology at a special event held yesterday at Amman Citadel. The introduction of 5G technology will accelerate Jordan’s transition into the 4.0 era and in supporting the country’s economic digital transformation process.
Last month, Umniah announced the launch of its 5G services in Irbid, Zarqa, and Amman, becoming the first telecom operator to introduce this technology to the Jordanian market. This leap forward has positioned Umniah at the forefront of the telecom sector in Jordan.
During the event, Umniah showcased a 3D video on the walls of the Umayyad Palace at the Citadel, which highlighted Jordan’s historical journey and its commitment to a brighter future through innovation and technological development.
Umniah CEO Faisal Qamhiyah commented on this occasion, saying: “The launch of 5G services aligns with our strategy to contribute to the development of digital infrastructure in the country and promote economic growth through innovation and technology. This milestone marks a significant turning point in Umniah’s journey toward a more connected and technologically advanced society.”
He added that the limitless potential of 5G technology plays a major role in shaping the future and facilitating the lives of individuals, companies, and institutions across various sectors.
Qamhiyah commended the efforts made by Umniah’s team to launch the fifth-generation network in record time, to improve users’ experience by offering special packages for individuals and for home internet subscriptions, which enhance the company’s position as the fastest-growing company in Jordan.
Umniah had chosen the Citadel, which is a historical landmark that symbolizes Jordan’s rich history and culture, to emphasize the importance of preserving and promoting Jordan’s history and heritage, while demonstrating the company’s commitment to advancing development in the country through innovative technology and advanced communications services.
