Amman- Umniah, a subsidiary of the Bahraini Beyon Group, has announced its participation in the Artificial Intelligence in Defense Technologies and Cyber Security Exhibition and Conference (AIDTSEC 2023), an event organized by the Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX Jordan) and took place on September 4–5 at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea.
Umniah’s sponsorship and participation in AIDTSEC were driven by its significant importance as the most prominent AI conference in the region as it brings together leading experts in AI technologies for defense and cybersecurity, government officials, decision-makers, and researchers to address and discuss emerging AI defense technologies worldwide. These discussions encompass a wide range of topics, including digital transformation and infrastructure, big data, cybersecurity, data analytics and protection, and other crucial subjects related to AI.
Iyad Jabr, Chief Business Officer at Umniah, stated, “Umniah’s participation in AIDTSEC is rooted in its regional significance in terms of attendance, participants, and the topics it addresses. AIDTSEC aligns with Umniah’s status as a leading company in cybersecurity solutions in the region.”
Jabr added that the global challenges in cybersecurity and AI necessitate collaborative efforts to confront them and transform them into opportunities that positively impact local companies and the local and national economies.
Umniah made a significant presence at the conference by participating in a session on AI and telecommunications held on the first day. Umniah was represented by their Network Architecture Manager, Feras El Bakri.
El Bakri discussed the uses of AI in the telecommunications industry in Jordan, along with the primary challenges and opportunities it presents to companies in the region. He also explained the mechanisms within these companies to effectively adapt their strategies to harness the benefits of AI.
El Bakri covered the role AI plays in enhancing network optimization, capacity planning, and overall service quality for telecommunications providers in Jordan. Additionally, he reviewed AI’s impact on customer experience and engagement within the telecommunications industry in Jordan, highlighting innovative solutions based on this concept that are deployed to improve customer satisfaction.
El Bakri presented examples of several successful projects that rely on AI and have contributed to the development of the telecommunications industry in Jordan. He also discussed the investments and research efforts made by the Kingdom to enhance the development of AI tech
