Abwaab Joins Umniah’s “umnicoin” Program

March 2023

September 14, 2020 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah has signed a new partnership agreement with Abwaab that allows users of the educational platform to exchange their umnicoin credit towards instructive programs offered by the platform.

Abwaab, an online educational platform for secondary students established in 2019, allows users to study at their own pace, and currently teaches the national Jordanian curriculum for Grade 7 all the way to Grade 12, with subjects including math, physics, chemistry, biology, science, Arabic and English, with continuous evaluations of the students by the site’s highly-experienced tutors.

Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said that through its efforts, Abwaab has changed the way curriculums are taught outside the classroom. He said, “The partnership between Umniah and Abwaab is in line with our belief in the importance of supporting the educational process creatively and innovatively.” The two companies share a similar ethos when it comes to education, with Umniah recognized as one of the biggest supporters of Jordan’s educational sector through its active corporate social responsibility department. Shatara added that, through the agreement, Umniah subscribers registered in the program will be able to exchange their umnicoin credit for use on Abwaab, accessing the paid educational content offered by the platform. To date, umnicoin has signed strategic partnerships with 65 partners across a spectrum of sectors.

Abwaab CEO and Co-founder Hamdi Tabbaa said, “We are proud of Abwaab, which is recognized as the first platform in the artificial intelligence sector that has established a partnership with Umniah. We are determined to be leaders in the advancement of the educational sector, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, and we will work to continuously develop the platform by providing equal learning opportunities to all students in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. We will expand our partnerships in both the public and private sectors in order to distribute the state-of-the-art audio and video content offered by the platform, in order to facilitate learning for students and enhance their understanding of the subjects taught from the national curriculum.”

In March 2018, Umniah launched umnicoin as part of its strategy to offer its subscribers the best digital services and solutions. The program allows all individual or corporate Umniah customers, whether they use post- or pre-paid lines or Internet services, to exchange their points for cash, rewards, services or as donations to a number of charities or non-profit organizations.
