Summer CSR Activations

Umniah has concluded its summer CSR initiatives with campaigns supporting underprivileged groups in the local community, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility.

To mark the International Day of Charity, Umniah, as part of its Uvolunteer program, organized a “Donate for Medicine” bake sale for employees in collaboration with Al-Malath Foundation for Palliative Care. The campaign supported the foundation’s efforts to provide essential medications and supplies to patients with terminal illnesses.

Umniah supported Azbakiet Amman’s “Reading is Resilience and Victory” campaign to collect educational books for children in Gaza who lost their homes and schools in the recent war.

This campaign is part of the “Azbakiet Gaza – Reading is Resilience and Victory” initiative by Azbakiet Amman, Azbakiet Ramallah, and some Azbakiet Cairo kiosks. It aims to collect 50,000 educational books for children aged 3 to 12 to support their reading and learning after losing access to schools. The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization will handle the delivery of the books to Gaza.

Umniah also partnered with the Princess Taghrid Foundation for Development and Training (PTI), Dar Ne’meh, which provides post-18 care for orphans from social institutions to help them integrate into society. This collaboration included promoting and selling Dar Ne’meh’s products to Umniah employees.

Wajeeha Al-Husseini, Director of Brand and Corporate Communications at Umniah, said, “At Umniah, we believe in the role of companies supporting the community, promoting solidarity and social unity. Our support for the ‘Reading is Resilience and Victory’ campaign for Gaza’s children reflects commitment to the power of education and reading in shaping a better future, especially under challenging circumstances. Providing access to educational books is not just support; it is an investment in their future and a means of helping them overcome adversity.”

Regarding the “Donate for Medicine” campaign supporting palliative care patients and the initiative with PTI, Al-Husseini explained that the goal is to provide essential support to those suffering from terminal illnesses and to orphans working to integrate into the community. She added, “Through these initiatives, we aim to highlight the crucial role of such institutions in society and to promote a culture of giving and social responsibility among our employees and the wider community.”

Al-Husseini emphasized that Umniah’s corporate social responsibility strategy aligns with its vision of strengthening the social fabric, stating: “We are committed to supporting the most vulnerable groups through diverse and impactful initiatives that drive positive and sustainable change in the community.”
