Under the Umbrella of Umniah Al Khair Umniah Hosts Eid Al-Adha Fun Day for Hearing-Impaired Children

July 13, 2022 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah recently partnered with MarthaEDU to host Eid al-Adha celebration for hearing-impaired children, a move that is in line with the main pillars of its corporate social responsibility strategy of helping those less fortunate, furthering a culture of volunteerism and working towards achieving sustainable development goals.

The event, which was held at Umniah’s garden, was attended by approximately 15 hearing-impaired children aged between 7 and 14 and included sports activities, face painting, story time, dances and games, with Umniah volunteer employees distributing gifts and sweets to the children.

Speaking at the event, Umniah Head of Corporate Communications and Innovation Ziad Asfour said that the company is happy to organize this event as a humanitarian gesture, to spread joy and happiness during Eid to brighten the lives of this exceptional group of children with hearing impediments. He went on to add that Umniah, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, prioritizes partnerships, events and initiatives that focus on integrating children with special needs into society, such as this event with the MarthaEDU. Asfour stressed that Umniah will continue to implement its ambitious CSR strategy, which furthers good citizenship and contributes to the communities within which it operates.

Also at the event, MarthaEDU Founders Rasha Abu Shakhdam and Ehab Kahwaty both thanked Umniah for hosting the children for a day of fun and games. They also spoke about the company’s leading role in partnering with organizations that help all segments of society, especially the vulnerable and less fortunate. MarthaEDU founders also acknowledged the incredible support that they received from Umniah’s business incubator, The Tank, which helped them implement their innovative project.
