Umniah’s Security Operation Center Is Awarded ISO 27001 Certification

Shatara: “We continuously strive to maintain our pioneering role in the area of information security” March 27, 2018 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah, a subsidiary of Batelco Group Bahrain, announced that its Security Operation Center (SOC) has been awarded the ISO27001 certification for information security management systems, affirming that all Umniah operations and procedures are compliant with the highest international standards, including maintaining customer information security and employing with safe and effective procedures when exchanging information and data. This certification reinforces customer satisfaction and confidence in the company while simultaneously managing and reducing risks to which institutions may be exposed. The ISO27001 standard specification for managing information security systems is one of the most significant accredited certificates on an international level, highly valued for its role in increasing efficiency and excellence at accredited institutions, which in turn leads to a rise in customer confidence in both the public and private sectors. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recognized that Umniah is implementing, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and cultivating its information security management system and follows the relevant controls in accordance and coordination with international standards. Speaking of the certification, Umniah CEO Ziad Shatara said that this recognition confirms the company’s pioneering position in the local market, adding, “The ISO27001 certification is a symbol of Umniah’s ongoing strategy to continue offering and delivering the best technological infrastructure that preserves the privacy and security of our customers and the safety of their data.
