October, 2022 –: Umniah, Jordan’s fastest growing telecommunications network, has announced the expansion of its high-speed fiber network to new areas inside and outside Amman, a move that is in line with its continuous efforts to meet the needs of its customers.
The new areas covered in the expansion are Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah and Makkah Al-Mukarramah neighborhoods in Russeifa city in Al Zarqa governonate; Al-Nakheel and Al-Sahaba neighborhoods in Marj Al-Hamam area and Al-Khalidin, Al-Rahmaniya and Al-Bashaer neighborhoods in the Khalda area of Amman.
Umniah subscribers in these areas can now enjoy high internet speeds of up to 1000 Mbps, which facilitates the uploading or downloading of large files, offers a high-quality viewer experience when watching high-definition videos or movies, and allows videogame players to play online without interruptions.
Commenting on the expansion, Umniah Chief Commercial Officer Zaid Al-Ibrahim said, “We continue to implement our development strategy for the sector by investing in the latest technologies of the global telecommunications market and delivering them to the Jordanian market. Fiber is one of our most important services, rolling it out within a planned time frame in order to add value to the digital experiences of our subscribers through our fast and efficient network.”
At the beginning of 2022, Umniah added Russaifa and Qweismeh to the list of areas covered by its high – speed fiber services, while in March it supplied the service to areas of Shafa Badran (Prince Hamzah, Tab Kara’a, Al-Koum, Umm Hajir, Al-Qasabat and Dheiba); Al-Akhdar and Al-Dira’ districts (Nazzal, Al-Akhdar, Al-Dhra`, Al-Hilal, Al-Hamraniyah and Al-Rawda); the Al-Mansour district; Khraibet Al-Souq and Al-Andalus districts.
In February 2019, Umniah established FiberTech in partnership with the Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO) to provide a new infrastructure offering high-speed internet services to approximately 1.3 million homes, businesses, and commercial buildings in Amman.
