Umniah Business Entrepreneurship Incubator Announces Partnership with BRINC Accelerator to Support Startups

June 25, 2018 – Amman, Jordan: Umniah announced through its business innovation incubator- The Tank, has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Internet of Things (IoT) hardware accelerator brinc, which is based in Bahrain. This cooperation is expected to have positive repercussions on Jordanian startups and entrepreneurs, allowing them to benefit from the range of services offered by The Tank, including accelerating and investing in companies. According to the memorandum of understanding, The Tank will send business entrepreneurs and startups to Bahrain in a program that supports entrepreneurship and innovation in the Internet of Things, allowing them to benefit from the experience and programs offered by brinc. Participants in the program will also benefit from joint work contacts as well as the opportunity for collaboration in promotion and marketing between The Tank and brinc. The memorandum of agreement was signed by Umniah’s Marketing Director, Zaid Ibrahim and brinc Chief Development Officer and General Manager for MENA Yassin Abu Daoud. At the signing ceremony, Ibrahim said, “Through this memorandum of understanding, Umniah seeks to create international and global experiences to help and encourage entrepreneurs in their first and critical steps by providing support, training and effective direction. This will allow them to move forward with their projects, advancing developmentally and generating income while simultaneously connecting them to a network of investors.” Ibrahim added that The Tank provides an added-value environment for entrepreneurial and innovative projects through its service. In addition to providing sponsorship services for the more innovative projects. He went on to add that brinc is considered among the most prominent international business accelerators, and is run by a highly-skilled group of partners. Ibrahim noted that Umniah’s remains steadfast in its strategy to reinforce and upgrade the Jordanian business environment, supporting startups in overcoming any obstacles they may face in order to reinforce their contribution to economic development in the Kingdom. In his remarks, Abu Daoud said, “We believe that partnerships are the key to opening a dynamic center that embraces technology startups. The Tank and brinc share our mission of embracing innovative talents. We look forward to a successful partnership, which will allow us to support more business entrepreneurs in the Middle East. In February, The Tank announced the launch of its entrepreneurship and innovation support program for the Internet of Things as well as its aims of forming partnerships with business accelerators around the world in order to provide opportunities for Jordanian startups and entrepreneurs.
