Career Day

Umniah participated in a career day at Safiyah Bint Abdel Mutaleb Mixed Secondary School in Mafraq, as part of its commitment to education and youth, in partnership with Madrasati initiative. Through its ‘UVolunteer’ program, Umniah aimed to guide students toward modern specializations needed in the local job market.

These career days are part of a project aimed at enhancing success opportunities for Jordanian and Syrian students in host communities, implemented by Madrasati initiative and supported by the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund.

The career day featured several guidance sessions led by Umniah experts. Maram Ismael presented on human resources, Rawan Masalha covered cybersecurity, Rula Nassraween shed light on Umniah’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Neveen Hussein focused on call center management skills, and Mahmoud Ali gave insights into telecommunications engineering.

Wajeeha Al-Husseini, Director of Brand & Corporate Communications at Umniah, said, “At Umniah, we believe in the importance of investing in education and empowering youth. We are pleased to partner with the Madrasati initiative on this career day, helping students make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures in line with the evolving job market demands.”

Tala Sweis, Director of Madrasati initiative, praised the partnership with Umniah, expressing that the career day would enrich students’ experiences and broaden their horizons. She emphasized that empowering youth with the knowledge and skills needed for the job market is an investment in Jordan’s future.

Education is a core pillar of Umniah’s corporate social responsibility strategy. By organizing this event, Umniah supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” The career day aligns with this goal by helping students make informed decisions about their university majors, steering them away from over saturated fields, and introducing them to emerging professions such as telecommunications engineering, customer service, cybersecurity, human resources, and social responsibility.

The career day was organized through Umniah’s UVolunteer program, in partnership with the Nahno platform – the national platform for youth volunteering and participation. The program aims to foster a culture of volunteering among Umniah employees, encouraging them to make a positive impact in the Jordanian community. It also promotes values of communication, generosity, and solidarity, while inspiring and preparing youth to become active and productive members of society.
