Umniah Partners with Tkiyet Um Ali for its Ramadan Campaign “Umniah Al Khair”

Umniah has launched its annual Ramadan campaign, “Umniah Al Khair,” featuring a series of solidarity and volunteer initiatives during Ramadan for the seventh consecutive year. In line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, Umniah has partnered with Tkiyet Um Ali to support families below the poverty line in Jordan, offering them monthly food parcels throughout the year.

The agreement was signed by Samer Balkar, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali, and Samer Taha, CFO of Umniah. The ceremony was attended by Faisal Qamhiyah, CEO of Umniah, and Wajeeha Al Husseini, Director of Brand and Corporate Communication in addition to senior employees from both organizations were also present.

The annual campaign, running from March 11th to April 10th, aligns Umniah with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to eliminate hunger, ensure food security, and enhance nutrition.

The campaign activities, led by Umniah’s youth team and employees under the UVolunteer program, include hosting a main Iftar at Tkiyet Um Ali’s Mawae’d Al Rahman in Al Mahatta, distributing food parcels, and packaging food items at Tkiyet Um Ali’s warehouse.

Umniah will also host several events during the holy month in collaboration with charitable organizations in Amman.

Faisal Qamhiyah, CEO of Umniah said: “The solidarity programs and initiatives that Umniah will implement throughout the holy month of Ramadan stem from its responsibility towards the community in which it operates. Through these efforts, in partnership with national non-profits, it aims to contribute to sustainable development.” He highlighted Tkiyet Um Ali as a pivotal institution in Jordan, known for its charity work and promoting justice and equity. Umniah takes pride in supporting and collaborating with such organizations to enhance societal well-being.

Qamhiyah praised the volunteer work of Umniah’s youth and employees throughout the year, especially during the “Umniah Al Khair” campaign, where they strive to reflect the bright image of Umniah by establishing noble values inherent to the Jordanian people, particularly during the holy month.

Samer Balker, Director General at Tkiyet Um Ali said: “We highly appreciate Umniah’s support for Tkiyet Um Ali’s programs through sponsoring needy families and ensuring the provision of sustenance for the poorest families throughout the year, stemming from Umniah’s belief that the needs of needy families extend beyond the holy month.” He praised the persistent partnership’s role over the years, in fighting hunger and advancing food security for the needy, viewing it as a model for charitable work.

Umniah has embraced the “Umniah Al Khair” initiative as the main umbrella under which all the company’s giving programs fall. This initiative aims to support numerous community and developmental initiatives held throughout the year, contributing to the development of society.

Tkiyet Um Ali offers sustainable food assistance to 20,000 needy families below the food poverty line across 12 governorates in the Kingdom. They distribute monthly food parcels with 19 items, fulfilling a family’s nutritional needs throughout the year.
