What is a VPS?

VPS is an acronym for (Virtual Private Server), which is a computer with high specifications, based on non-shared fixed components, which are:

1. RAM
2. CPU – Processor
3. Storage
4. Operating system could be Windows or Linux
5. Static IP

Benefits of VPS

1. Ensure confidentiality and privacy: it is impossible for any individual to monitor what occurs within the private server, only you can preview or control everything that happens within this server; even the company providing the service has no right or authority to observe what you do with this private server.
2. Good capabilities suitable for multiple uses: These servers are capable of providing extraordinary service, with the smallest VPS server providing the following:
   • Disk space of at least 20 GB
   • Memory no less than 1 GB and does not exceed 64 GB
   • Processor: ranging from (core 2) to (corei7)
   • Connection speed of no less than 1 MB per second, with unlimited downloads
3. Protection from data loss or damage: the servers create a backup copy of files and update them automatically. If for any reason, your server crashes, you can easily recover your data.
4. Flexibility and speed in increasing and upgrading your server capabilities: By contacting the technical support team, you can efficiently increase and upgrade your service. For example, if you are using 1GB memory you can increase it up to the maximum server size (64GB). You can also increase disk space or upgrade the server in other ways in a short time period.
5. You can turn the server on or off at any time, you can also leave the server on 24/7 without it affecting the servers’ performance.

VPS Usage:

VPS has multiple uses, some of them being:

2. Hosting any software or system such as accounting, human resources and warehouse systems.

The server is part of Umniah’s cloud services and is located in the company’s data center in Amman.

There are two ways to subscribe to the VPS server, them being:

1. Through the website on www.cloud.umniah.com
2. Through the enterprise sales team

Is there a commitment upon subscribing to the VPS?

The commitments and durations differ upon subscribing to the VPS service such as:

1. Subscriptions are monthly when purchased through the website. However, the customer has the option to cancel at any time without incurring any obligations.
2. The commitment is annual when you subscribe through the enterprise sales team.
