Sami Jarar : Director of HR and Corporate Affairs
Sami Jarrar, Umniah's Director of HR and Corporate Affairs, has been an integral part of the team since Umniah's licensing in August 2004 and has been instrumental in building team and capacity. In addition to managing the company’s people initiatives, critical to Umniah’s success and strategy, Jarrar led his team in setting up HR best practices that won the GSM Association’s (GSMA) Global People Initiative Award in the category of ‘Enabling Innovation through Human Capital & Talent Practices’ at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, 2008.

Having started his career as an engineer in a public sector technical operation, Jarrar also had brief exposure to the academic field. Before joining Umniah, Jarrar held senior positions in corporate communications consultancies, managing the accounts of major multinationals as well as regional telecom operations.

Jarrar holds a BSc and MSc in Systems Engineering from the universities of Kent and Wales in the UK.
