UmniahLive.net – The new email domain provided by Umniah powered by Microsoft to enhance your experience.
Introduction
The Umniahlive.net is a new email domain providing email services based on the Microsoft Live email platform. The new domain will offer the customers the ability to benefit from a multitude of new services that will provide a solution that helps aggregate and better manage their online activity through a co-branded set of Windows Live services.
The existing email address (user@batelco.jo) for example will get a new email address on the new UmniahLive platform as (user@umniahlive.net) where both addresses can be used to send and receive emails from within the same interface. The user will have the ability to choose which email address he wants to use to send the email from.
The main features of the new platform are:
- New interface used with your old and new email address
- The ability to access other email accounts (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! mail) from one interface
- Join Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin account updates to be displayed in the Windows Live interface.
- 25GB of online storage space through the SkyDrive, in addition to 25GB of email storage space.
- Office Online services which include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Email Migration
The migration process to the new platform will be done automatically by the Umniah Team guaranteeing no loss of data. All the data from the old email inbox will be migrated to the new email platform for your convenience and will be placed in a folder called (Umniah-Inbox).
The emails that will be migrated are the emails under the following domains:
- @batelco.jo
- @nol.com.jo
- @net.jo
- @nets.com.jo
The login area to your email service will change to a new login area with new credentials. Your existing login credentials will not allow you to access the new email platform. We have sent you your new credentials via email in addition to the new login page. If you have not received them please follow the instructions below to get the new credentials.
New Credentials
- Go to Umniah.com and click on the check email page.
- Choose your existing domain
- Next you will receive a new area to login through your old credentials
- Please enter your email address and password.
- You will then be directed to a new page where you will have to enter your name, contact number and alternative email address for Umniah to send you the new credentials on for you to save them
- After entering the information and clicking on continue, you will be forwarded to a page that contains your new Umniahlive.net login credentials.
- After clicking on continue, you will be forwarded to the new login page: http://login.umniahlive.net
- Please use this page to access your email in any future login attempt.
Using POP3 email service through Outlook
If you are using your email address through Outlook, you will need to change a few settings in order to be able to send and receive your emails. Please follow these simple steps after making sure that you have received your new login credentials by following the steps mentioned above:
- You need to change the settings of the outgoing and incoming mail server.
- For manual change, please follow the instructions on the following document.
- For automatic changes, please download the following script that will run and automatically configure the new settings for you.
- After changing the mail settings, please change the email address and password.
- Restart Outlook and you are ready to send and receive emails.
Using your old email address to send emails
For receiving emails there will be no need for any changes as you will receive both the emails sent to your @batelco.jo domain (for example) and the @umniahlive.net domain on the same interface.
If you need to send the email via the old email address:
- Access the email web interface through http://login.umniahlive.net
- Login through your @umniahlive.net credentials
- Choose the email that you want to send from the drop down list and send the email.
- Any reply to the email will be viewed in the same inbox.
