Global MPLS

Global MPLS is a service that provides customers with high performance and top-of-the-class service to meet different customer networking requirements, including voice, video conferencing, real-time applications and other services. Umniah is offering this service via its mother company “Batelco Bahrain”.

Batelco Bahrain interconnects its regional network with other global service providers to ensure that customers receive a variety of high quality services and global coverage. Global MPLS is based on IP technology that enables multipoint-to-multipoint international connectivity. Most importantly, it can provide customers with Classes of Service (CoS) to manage different media such as data, voice and video. CoS is the traffic priority assigned to the different packets the customer will be transmitting throughout the network.

Available CoS Are:

  • Real Time: This is the highest priority of all classes and mainly defined to be used for voice and video connectivity.
  • Mission Critical: This class is mainly defined to be used for high priority real-time application.
  • Standard: This class is mainly used for applications which are time sensitive yet are not top priority.
  • Best Effort: This is a best effort class normally used for email and FTP or other non time-sensitive applications.
