No, there is no need as Umax is a wireless access service.

 

6.     How many Umax lines can I get?

As many lines as you need; provided the customer meets Umniah’s credit requirements.

 

7.     How long does it take to activate my Umax connection?

 It takes only 10 minutes.

 

8.     What is a CPE?

CPE or (Customer Premises Equipment) is the portable device that will enable you to connect to UMAX.

 

9.     How can I get a wireless modem?

You can obtain a wireless modem  through one of the following options:

  • You can buy it at  200JDs.
  • You can rent it at 6JD per month

 

10.   How can I configure my wireless modem?

By simply reading the Quickstart manual provided with your wireless modem  device.

 

11.   Who do I contact if I need help?

You can call our support center on 1333 from an Umniah number or +962788001333 from any other number.

 

12.   What is the meaning of CAP limit?

It means the total amount of download and uploads data during the month.

 

13.   How can I tell if I reach my CAP limit?

You will be notified through an SMS message when you reach: 75%, 90% and 100% CAP threshold.

 

14.   What happens when I reach my CAP limit?

 You can have one of these three options:

  • You can get FREE usage by downgrading your speed to 64kbps and continue using the internet for FREE until your subscription ends
  • You can top up your CAP anytime before or after reaching your threshold
  • You can always add a continuous additional CAP to your subscription.

 

15.   How can I recharge my CAP?

You can top up your account by visiting any of Umniah branches.

 

16.   How long does it take to recharge my account?

 It takes only 10 minutes.

 

17.   Can I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?

You can upgrade your subscription anytime you want, downgrading it is not allowed.

 

18.   Can I get a premium service that gives me priority access over others?

Yes, that is possible to deliver through our Class of Service feature.  You can get silver, gold or platinum depending on your needs. Platinum provides the highest level of priority followed by Gold and Silver.

 

19.   Is the Umax service covered at my home?

20.   Can I terminate the service?

Yes you can but you may need to pay termination fees.
