Here at Umniah it is our aim that your children can get the best out of their mobiles. If you are thinking about buying your child a mobile phone, we think it's worth discussing proper phone usage and mobile internet access with them.

Features that make mobile phones attractive to young users also offer the potential for misuse. Access to the mobile internet has brought with it access to material that may not be suitable for children. Talk to your children and remind them that there are things on the internet that are upsetting and unsuitable – even for adults. Encourage them to talk to you or a trusted adult if they ever see anything which might have disturbed them. Make sure to periodically look through phones with internet access that your children might be using.

Talk to your kids on how you want their mobile phones to be used. Agree on spending limits for paid-services, time spent on the internet and who to give their phone number to. Mobile phones are a wonderful tool when used properly, please talk to your children about proper mobile phone usage to make sure they get the best out of their mobile.
